What can I expect?

Hagg Farm Outdoor Education Centre offers a range of courses for teachers, support staff, and in fact anyone involved in supporting environmental and outdoor activities for pupils and students.  Courses include national awards, introductions to the centre and themed events.  All courses are led by highly qualified and experienced staff who are keen to share their enthusiasm with you.  Course providers also work regularly with groups of pupils and young people so that skills can be transferred into teaching situations.

All our courses aim first and foremost to be enjoyable and productive.  We aim to provided colleagues with a range of new experiences and ideas in the stimulating environment of the northern Peak District.  Hagg Farm is located just off the Snake Road in an area of sweeping moorland and forested valleys.  Hill walking, orienteering and rock climbing courses are run from the self contained John Hunt Base on site.

Feedback shows that you are likely to return from a course with fresh energy and new ideas.  The days are packed full of activity and exploring new activities. All our courses offer you the opportunity to share skills and good practice with other participants as well as benefit from the skills and expertise on offer. The special residential setting in a beautiful part of the Peak District enables you to get the most from your course.  After an active day you will appreciate the free time to meet colleagues, enjoy the surroundings and relax away from any pressures.

Introduction and refresher courses at Hagg Farm

These important courses set the scene for new leaders and other colleagues keen to find out about the work of the centre.  We aim to give you as many different experiences as possible during the course as well as covering all the essential logistical and health and safety information necessary for a residential visit.  If you are considering a residential visit to one of our centres or are interested to find out more, then why not enroll on our two day course?  We are convinced you will enjoy the experience. Other colleagues may want to come for a day to our refresher courses.
