These medium-term plans have been produced to support, but not prescribe,
teacher's planning. They exemplify ways in which NLS Framework for
teaching objectives (and Early Learning Goals) can be clustered. The
KS1 and KS2 medium-term plans cluster the NLS text, sentence and word
level objectives into untis. The Foundation Stage plans cluster the
Stepping Stones and Early Learning Goals and NLS objectives into focuses.
The KS2 plans are a revised version of those which appeared as pilot
materials on the Literacy Coordinators' CD ROM and on this web site.
Substantial changes have been made to the allocation of word level
objectives. The KS1 plans are unchanged from the original, except for the
addition of speaking and listening emphases.
