This text is from the opening verse of 'She' by David and Bacharach. This activity is more of a demonstration at an adult level.

Learning Objective

You will learn to use the thesaurus tool of Word.

Task

Your task is to take the first verse and change the powerful nouns and verbs as well as the adjectives and see how far from the original meaning of the song.

When using this with children, you need to model it first in the shared session strengthening a piece of text. This is a very motivating alternative to flicking through a thesarus

Extension

The full thesaurus tool can be accessed via shift+F7 or by right clicking over a word and selecting synonyms

 To download a Word file:
click the right hand mouse button;
choose "Save Target As";
specify a place to store the file (often the Desktop is a good place).
