The Nottinghamshire Literacy and ICT teams have been working together for more than two years developing the ICT and Literacy course.

Find and replace

This activity looks at using the find and replace tools to allow to children to engage fully with a text changing repeated words to change the context.

This example has the children changing the Iron Man into the Clay Giant.

 
Thesaurus practice

Using right click on the mouse or Shift + F7 the children are able to access the Thesaurus tool to develop their use of vocabulary

This example gives an extract from 'The Wizard of Oz' to edit.
 

Cut, copy and paste

The cut, copy and paste tools are extremely useful to use, this activity also develops the children's work on alphabetical order with animal names and vocabulary use with the Three Little Pigs.


 

  

Online Writing Journal

This writing journal is ready to be downloaded and stored for use by individual children, groups or whole classes.

This resource is most suitable to Key Stage Two children and is likely to be motivating for boys
