Course description

This is a practical course which aims to equip teachers with the skills, knowledge and understanding required to teach the Multimedia Presentation Unit (6A) of the QCA Scheme of Work for ICT. This unit, more than any other QCA ICT unit, has the power to enrich the whole curriculum through its application. We shall be basing the course around two programs:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint
    The industry standard multimedia presentation and teaching tool
    Microsoft
     
  • Kar2ouche
    An exciting new interactive story-board building package with enormous cross-curricular potential

Course objectives

  • To provide teachers with a practical interpretation of ICT unit 6A.
  • To give teachers first hand experience of PowerPoint and Kar2ouche.

Course achievements

  • Greater expertise and confidence in the delivery of unit 6A.
  • Greater understanding of the application of multimedia presentations across the upper KS2 curriculum.

  • create a new presentation

  • insert recorded sound
  • animate objects
